In the aftermath of homicide
Queensland Homicide Victims’ Support Group (QHVSG) provides 24 hour support, personal advocacy and education to all people affected by homicides in Queensland, regardless of age, gender, culture or religion. Call their 24 hour support line below.
About QHVSG
QHVSG want you to know they understand that when a family member or close friend dies as a result of homicide, this is a particular type of grief, brought about by extraordinary circumstances. Our usual reactions to grief – anger, blame, shock, guilt – are all heightened. The involvement of the criminal justice system further complicates our usual human reactions to grief.
QHVSG have an experienced team of counsellors and peer supporters who offer education, advocacy and support through the aftermath of homicide. QHVSG also offers a case management approach tailored to each person’s specific needs and situation.
If you need support following a homicide, QHVSG can help. Call them any hour of the day, any day of the week on 1800 774 744 (24/7).
